Movie theaters - Tan Dun mixes an East-West 'Emperor'

NEW YORK Tan Dun has done it.
If the first casualty of the War on Christmas was, as in all wars, the truth, the second and all but unnoticed casualty -- maybe it was just collateral damage -- has to be Christmas Moderne.
Although Christmas is associated with good food, fellowship and home, it also is a time when families of all faiths gather the children and venture out for new movie releases.
The Home Depot doesnt like to build its stores near movie theaters, because moviegoers jam the parking lot on weekends. Clothing stores dont want to be next to ice cream shops, because sticky-fingered patrons could ruin the merchandise.
