Students take a hands on approach to learning (Medical terminology)
In the welding lab at the Marion County Area Technology Center, students might be busy putting together a bucket for a front-end loader to fit on a tractor. Down the hall, health sciences students could be making models of the human body and learning basic skills like CPR and first aid.
A national program to improve the quality of health care provided to patients with limited English proficiency was announced today, with 10 hospitals nationwide selected to participate in a high-level learning collaborative aimed at helping hospitals develop tested language services programs that provide more effective and timely communications with these patients.
